Ios

Ios is an island of the Cyclades island group in the Aegean Sea, Greece. The island is hilly with coastline shaped with cliffs, spread halfway between Santorini and Naxos. Ios is around 18 kilometers long and 10 kilometers wide. It has a land area of approximately 109 square kilometers. The island supports a population of 1,838 people. It is a part of the Santorini peripheral unit.

The Island’s port, in the northwest, is at the head of the Ormos harbor. The nearest village in the island is Chora. It is a very picturesque and white village. Its fullness of narrow paths and stairs makes it out of reach for cars of any kind. The main path through Chora is absolutely taken over by tourism such as bars, boutiques, restaurants and discothèques. Ios has an another few settlements, offshore of main village of Chora. Ios' advancement towards attracting different types of tourists. Some roads have been built again or paved. The scenic amphitheater has been build at the top of the village hill.
